Clean, comfortable, nice people. Would stay there again
On the plus side, comfy bed, warm welcome, good breakfast. However the room was very small and the bathroom tiny, and the payment arrangements are not easy (and slightly over-zealous chasing for the money!). Why not just take payment on booking? Or if you allow bacs payments, don't chase the money before the time when payment is agreed!! Leaves a slightly sour taste to what was otherwise a nice enough stay.
Located mid-way between Liverpool and Manchester, this lovely B&B is perfectly situated for use as a base to explore the surrounding towns and cities, and the canal region. Drive into nearby Warrington to catch a train to other locations. After a hard day playing tourist, walk across the road to the Cat and Lion for a drink, or walk further in the other direction to the Stretton Fox for a good feed and drink.
I booked this online and didn't know what to expect but wow what a little gem, B&B really doesn't do this place justice from checking in to checking out it was a dream. The room was a very good size and spotless the crisp white bedding to the lovely white Egyptian cotton towels which incidently were changed mid stay plenty of tea/coffee & milk in the room. I was on a 5 day course starting at 07.30 so on arrival I asked Helen if I could have breakfast for 07.00 not a problem every day I walked into the dining room at 06.55 breakfast was always ready with a fresh pot of tea and fresh toast thanks to Helen I wasn't late any day. Gary & Helen were a lovely couple to deal with nothing seemed to be a problem for them. I would like to say this little place was just what I needed peace & quiet as I had to revise most nights for exams on Thursday.This is really a Home from Home and thanks for sharing it with me.Dave
My two pals,1 young son and myself booked in after by chance looking when our usual holiday inn was full. Well we've already booked for our next trip because...spotlessly clean, comfortable, lovely rooms, a full English to die for, endless filtered coffee, and above all made to feel welcome. Communication between Helen and myself was easy and quick,the fact we were going to be late because of traffic was dismissed and just told to be safe. I've been in business for 35 years in the public sector and to find this level of service and a gem such as this wonderful guest house refreshing. Can't wait for Garry's breakfast again in November, thank you both. Andy
